I am considering the purchase of one of the subject PCs.

I am aware that the PCs are brand new, but does anyone have any insight on the display options? I would like to have touchscreen, but I do not want to sacrifice clairity of the screen.

Which display option would be best for each PC?

    Thanks in advance...

    RR

The touchscreen has better clarity and is sharper but it is not ideal in brightly light places as glare may be an issue. I do not know if the T450s suffer the same screen issue as the T440s where some people got stuck with bad screens from LG.

Are you referring to the touchscreen on the T450s or on the T550?

No, it doesn't. T450s has a different LG screen without these issues.

I really hope that is true ibmthink. But as history has shown time and time again, deliveries of the production machines will prove that. Lenovo's recent history isn't good in that regard.

T440s/p used the LP140WF1-SPK1 panel. T450s uses the LP140WF3-SPD1. First user reports were positive about the panel, but we will see how it fares when more and more users get their T450s.

But what model we may choose for touch capability, Lenovo doesn't have a clear option in the web site, only a upgradable feature, as mentioned in other tech reviews.
I had only see in the specs model sheet the screen is

Multi-touch (opt) IPS Capacitive-type multi-touch, supports 10-fi nger gesture, 264 nits but does not mention resolution, so it's an accessorio or what ?

    Thnks at all

If you check the specs on the Lenovo's site, it says the touch LCD is FHD. Personally, I don't like touch screens as the produce a significant amount of glare. If you're unsure, I'd try to look at least to go look at some to see if you like them.

I have the Full HD IPS (non-touch) panel on my T450s, and consider it good.
Be sure to burn it in for at least 24 hours before judging it,
and calibrate it if accurate color matters to you.

Ok, so I don't see an owners thread for the T550, so I figured this may be as good a place as any to start. I own one of these models, and have replaced the stock 1366x768 display with a B156HAN01.2 IPS screen. The screen works, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to enable the brightness controls. The screen stays on at max brightness, Windows says brightness controls are unavailable, and naturally - keyboard shortcuts for brightness don't work. All of the other hotkeys work correctly. I have tried installing and uninstalling various drivers, using various Thinkpad LCD INF for the monitor, as well as the generic PNP monitor driver. Nothing is working....

I have the 450s with the FHD touchscreen. As soon as I got the laptop, I noticed significant light bleeding on a black screen, and had to knock the brightness down a few levels to get rid of it. That said, the light bleed isn't noticeable in normal use or really on black at the levels I use normally. I'm otherwise very happy with the screen. Color seems decent, and clarity is very good.

I actually did the same thing with a w550s... Everything was fine except max brightness and I couldn't change the settings... This is an actual issue... I swapped with a lg-lp156wf4-spu1

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. So do you think this is a hardware/software issue with Lenovo? Perhaps drivers?
