I am using a Lenovo x61 with vista home. I found that after disk cleanup action, the 535 mb in 'temporary files' (not temepory internet files)was never deleted. It is the same after several times. I tried to search the temporary files in system so I can delet them manually, but failed to target them.
Can any one help me to understand this?

Also can anyone tell me how to inactivate the Thinkvantage rescue and recovery to prevent the large memory loss on my cisk C?

    Thanks.

Ok, go to Computer-Local C:-Temp and delete the files there. :)

Oh, and I'm not sure how to deactivate the Thinkvantage thing that you are talking about because I've never used it...
    Can you uninstall it maybe??

I recommend CC cleaner, could not be easier for files and registry. And its free.

I second CCleaner. Used it on many computers and it works like a charm!

I think that if you are not an advanced user (not trying to put you down here) that you shouldn't dabble with programs like CCleaner. If you don't know what your doing or what a program does when you do this or that, you just shouldn't do it. Cleaning registry and the like is not something the average user should be doing! It can cause major problems if you do the wrong thing... :S

i agree that messing with the registry is dangerous, but if you choose to even use that option on CC cleaner you are advised to back up the registry and 99% of the time it only cleans orphaned entries. good point, but i dont think that CC cleaner should be discouraged.

Thanks all for suggestions and advices.
I am not good in computer so I usually do not
    download extras to my computer.
My problem is that I went into program files and found the temporary file is empty. There is nothing to be deleted yet it always shows 537kb in there.

Well, I'm not sure then how you could fix that, but if you think of the space not as 536 kb and as .536 Mb or even .000536 Gb you should quickly realize that isn't much space that it's taking up, as annoying as it may be. :)

Just hope it does not grow any bigger.
    Thank you.

    Oops! It is growing!
    It is 543kb now.
Although it is only tiny growth,
I worry it will eat up all the space because
there is no way to delete it.
I did go into the 'Temporary files' in windows
    and manually deleted everything today,
but it did not change the number after
cleaning drive C - it increased instead.
    What 'Temporary file' is that?
    Where can I find it?

    paul,
shoelace is right. your sweating the small stuff. windows often uses temp files in various locations to run programs and daily tasks. Unless your temp files are exceeding a few GB, your better off leaving them alone. Windows will often lock the files in use, or possibly your antivirus is using them and so on. Space is cheap these days, you talking about half a meg. I would let it ride and just keep an eye on it.
