    Hey guys,

I just recently purchased and got(finally) my T61 with Vista Home Premium and I know that the system saves restore points for the computer just in case anything happens somewhere on the hard drive. So I partitioned 2 drives and one drive(the D) is constant while the other drive(C) keeps going up and down. Only the C is having this problem. Right now I have 3.43 GB left of 39 GB(C), but if I look in the folders it all adds up to only 18.1 GB. I know to go into disk clean up and and go to more options then clean up all the system restores and shadow copies, but that then only leaves me with 5 GB of free space. So my question is... does anyone have a clue on what's going on or what to do?

    Thanks.

Make sure Rescue & Recovery also isn't making backups that are eating up your HD.

Also, remember that when you try to add up the folders' space on your hard drive you need to unhide every single file, including the protected operating system files. You'll do this in folder options, if you didn't already know.

Some of your space is also consumed by page file and recycle bin, which an adding up of all the files wouldn't account for. Hibernation also takes up space, so just keep all these factors in mind if there is HD space unaccounted for.
