See Thinkpadtoday.com They state 15% off on the new models (T400, T500 etc.) and more on older ones. Codes will be released at midnight. The discounts appears to be equal to EPP pricing.
For you on the edge of buying. A wait until Midnight might be in order. I have EPP anyways so I'm still waiting for LED screens on the T500.
-
Is it stackable to CPP or EPP?
-
It doesn't say. I would say to try it. Like so many other codes they have, some work on CCP I hear but I don't think many (if any) work on EPP.
When they come out, if those who try it could post their results for others. -
For example, if it's stackable, which should add up to 30% with CPP+code, would I be able to cancel my already placed order w/o paying any penalty? It says estimated shipping is on 8/21 and it's still in process.
-
I wouldn't assume it to be stackable until proven. I did just check both the CPP and EPP sites and the prices seem to be the same so since many use CPP anyways this may not be a big deal unless stackable.
-
I would probably think that's the case but just wondering if it does happen, would I be able to cancel my current order without penalty or stock fee?
-
I have no clue.... Can somebody else jump in here with an answer?
-
sorry, can someone explain to me what CPP/EPP/SPP is?
thanks -
CPP= contractor purchasing program
with a code (through google) you can get a discount, then goto lenovo.com/cpp -
EPP is Employee Purchase Plan which is some what like a Friends and Family thing. You need to know an employee that will give you their code. The discounts are generally as good if not better than any others even combined with coupons. It is made to be passed out by the employees and is totally legit.
SPP= I don't know but I hear it is the same as EPP
The CPP is as already mentioned. I think it is a little incorrect to use it if you don't qualify by being a contractor but it appears a lot of people do it with no issues at least with internet ordering. If you call, I hear they sometimes ask for the name of the contractor and how you got the code. -
so...wait, my friend is letting me use her "corporate discount" from a software company (not lenovo), does that count towards CPP?
edit: typo -
I know that the EPP codes are encouraged to be given to friends and family (mine is IBM).
The CPP codes I don't know what if any restrictions are to be on their use. I do know a lot of people just search the net, find and code and use it with no problems. Is it legit to pass it around to friends and family? I don't know. But there is no Lenovo jail. -
BTW, does anybody know what brand (Samsung?) and whether it's SLC or MLC? -
this is gonna be good for my 21 day price match
-
-
can i do the 21 day price match if my order is currently in process?
-
There will be coupon codes and ecoupons for the X200
What's the difference between coupon codes and ecoupon? -
lol, no lenovo jails. Yep, I agree that.
Let's hope that u can use a cpp code + ecoupon.
Strangewest> I think coupon codes are the cpp/epp codes and the ecoupons, are the normal coupons. -
I'm imagining the "Soup Nazi" on the old Seinfeld show. "No thinkpad for you!!!!"
Seriously if Lenovo wanted to shut down the "abuse" of CPP, they could have easily done so a long time ago. This has been going on for years. I think they don't mind selling to the bargain hunters at this price which still has profit but just don't want the general public all using it. Better a sell for some profit then no sell at all. -
I hope it will stack. But it's one day thing.. I think it might.
QUESTION:
If it's stackable, I can just call Lenovo and add discount to already placed order right instead of reordering?? -
yeap. That's it.
Cpp codes are not a completely public thing, so they don't mind if sombody is using it.
I lose my afraid to lenovo rollcaged jails. So don't worry.
at least, not now
EDIT> STRANGEWEST> don't call if u r going to use a CPP code. they will ask who gave it to u. If u r talking about regular coupons, i pass. -
It seems like they applied $70 discount (Lenovo's mistake when they mispriced 128GB SSD) as an eCoupon, so I can't get another ecoupon added. Not sure if it applies the same to regular coupons. And I think they count SSD as it's real price when they count total discounts. The rep said 15% coupon will increase price than $70 discount.. (so I guess he added the price of SSD as well..?)
I used the student discount by the way. -
Coupons came out. You guys could try, but it didn't stack for me using CPP.
USPONEDAY -
I tried stacking it with CPP and an affiliate program. Neither worked. Also tried stacking it with USXBACKTOSCHOOL which also didn't work. Anyone tried student or Visa program?
-
I guess it's 15% off from regular setting.. so 15% off from whatever discounted price that is not CPP,EPP,SPP,Student discount, etc.
I'm just going to wait for price to go down so I could get back some change. -
Just tried Visa and Student. Don't stack. So, I guess 15% is it. I don't have an EPP code to try.
On the plus side, the discount applies to all accessories as well: docks, batteries, monitors, etc. -
Do those coupon codes only work in the states? I just tried USPONEDAY on lenovo canada's site and it didn't work
Unfortunately EPP is only 10% off so I would rather use a coupon for 15%. Any ideas if there are Canadian coupon codes?? -
I guess it looks like there will be no stackable coupon for new models for awhile. I've been wasting far too many times. I will just settle with 64GB SSD and hoping for price reduction for price match.
-
great, its the same price as CPP
-
Stacking possible for anybody?
-
for people that used CPP codes they found on the internet and have called in for service or repairs, does lenovo check for the source of that code?
also, using this coupon, the total came out to be 3 cents more than CPP -
Lenovo won't check the sources of the code nor do they even care how you get it. But don't expect it to be stackable, it's not gonna happen.
-
they would only ask the source of the CPP code if you order via phone
but i dont see why they would ask for SERVICE repairs -
For service repair they don't even care if you or whoever bought the notebook, all they need is the serial number of the notebook.
-
-
I configured a T61 and applied the coupon and it only gave me 15% off, as opposed to the 36.25% off that's being advertised. Anyone know what's up?
-
Can you save a cart on a one day sale like this?
Will the price still be good a week later for instance? -
-
-
correct!
and yes the CPP site should always be better...look at the price drops they are advertising today on memory and hard drives.
lenovo.com comes out about $42 dollars more expensive than cpp when building the same T61 -
-
Confirmed NOT stackable with student discounts, either... but Han Bao Quan is right: I can spec out a great X200 for $1330. Ridiculously cheap indeed, and much closer to the price promised at launch.
Those who don't wish to wait for the price drop (or for the X200s or -t) should pull the trigger now.
EDIT: $1330 is before tax, of course. -
Isn't regular X200 better than s or t in terms of performance? Portability wise, 200s does the job, but I don't think it makes much difference to get one or two more hours and 0.5- less pounds or so when it gives you 9 hours on regular 200 with 9 cell.
As for the tablet, I guess it would be different story because it's for totally different usage. -
so ahhh anybody know if a saved cart during a short sale such as this one retains the sale price after the sale ends?
Discounts tomorrow on Thinkpads
