    What are some good ways to get discounts on Thinkpads? The one I used to use is now gone :(

    Barnes and Noble Gold (google) is the best way usually.

    I agree.

    But even that discount can often range from very good to mehhh.

    You can also try camping the Outlet; occasionally they have really good deals there, but those obviously seem to go really fast.

    Works for everyone. I also combined the 10% email promotion as well as some on-the-phone haggling for my W520 when I bought it (total: 25% off, or a few pennies over $500).

    I bought ThinkPad T530 for 1080 refurbished with following specs from outlet for 1080$ shipped.
    IMO Don't go for new laptop , buy a refurbished one. ( it will save you some money and you get the better specs)
    I really liked my new laptop.

    True most of the time, except during some very nice sales on the Lenovo B&N Gold site. During some of those sales, the price for a new Thinkpad is actually less than that of an equivalent outlet machine.
