When buying a T60p on the website, the second page of the customization options lists Special Offers, including two $99 1 GB memory expansion options. One says "Discounted 1GB Additional Memory, Customer Installed", and the other says "Discounted 1GB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM Memory". I assume from the way this is written that the second choie is not customer installed, that it is installed by Lenovo in the laptop. But I want to be sure, because when I go to checkout it appears (though isn't clear) that the two may ship separately.

I'm not up for installing my own memory, so if anyone has ordered one and taken advantage of this offer, can you please clarify? Thanks!

This isn't clear to me, either, but the "Discounted 1GB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM Memory" option might be installed by Lenovo. Even if the RAM module is shipped separately, it's not difficult to install it yourself. My grandmother installed RAM in her notebook without help.

May I ask how much base memory you ordered? Are you getting 1 GB from the first customization page plus 1 GB from the second page? You could save $99 by getting 1 GB from the first page plus the "Free 512MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM Memory" from the second page. I think most people would not notice a difference between 1.5 GB and 2 GB RAM.

It really depends on what you are doing whether you will need the extra memory.

I'm doing lots of photo editing. 2 GB makes a noticeable difference on my existing computer. If anyone has ordered a T60 with this promotion and knows whether or not it was installed by Lenovo, please let me know. I called them and got inconsistent answers.
