Hello all. I made a thread in the what should I buy forum, but I realized it might be more relevant to this group.
As you all probably know, Lenovo recently announced a really amazing reduction on its highest end t43p laptop (workstation ed). I'm torn on which one is the better deal. They both meet my requirements but theres some information that might distinguish the two that I don't understand.
1. Graphics. While my needs aren't that demanding, there are two distinct video cards on the table. My concerns are for which is better for raw power and which is better for battery life.
T43p- 128MB ATI Mobility FireGL V3200 SXGA+
T60- 64MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 SXGA
2. Processor. The obvious difference of 1 core vs two. But will a 1.83ghz core duo out perform a 2.13ghz P-770?
3.Interface. I heard lenovo made some changes in the usability of thier new laptops. Is the old IBM style better?
4. Battery Life. Since the dimensions are the same and I will be getting an 8 cell w/ Multibay batt anyway, what is the estimate on the better battery life?-This ultimatly is the most important to me as these are both stellar PC's.
Basically I'm wondering which is the better bang for the buck? (there is only $50 price diff).

My god, I am LOVING my new T60. right now it is benchmarking above the 4000+ AMD X2. So fast, so speedy, its a freaking dream.
Also the T60 doens't have any of the SATA issues of the T43's -

Bought it from ibm online about a month ago. I think they are updating models today, and that is why there are no T60's listed. Check tonight or tommorow
