Hi guys, I recently purchased a T410 after a while of decision making. I started a chat with online sales rep on the Lenovo website. I talked to her for a while asking her questions about the ThinkPad T410 and the IdeaPad Y460. She eventually asked me if she wanted me to have her quote me a price on both of them. I told her that would be fine. I also gave her a 5% off coupon code. Later, I told her I found a 10% off coupon code that had recently expired. She said she would see if her manager could override it. She replied later saying if I couldn't get it to work, then she couldn't either. I replied telling her if she could get me 10% off (which would take care of the tax for me), that I would complete the purchase. Needless to say, she immediately sent me back a quote with the 10% taken off.
Not sure if this a typical practice with them. I figured it might be, but I haven't read about anyone else doing this since I've been reading around on this forum the past couple days.
If it's not a known practice, I thought I'd give the heads up to anyone who wanted a little more of a deal on something they were contemplating.

Lenovo always has deals, so I would say this is quite normal. For instance, in Canada 25% off is pretty normal, and up to 35% off is always offered through visaperks.ca (valid until 2011). Congrats on the purchase though.

Yeah, that sounds about right, most of the purchases I heard around here happen something like this. I guess they really want to strive to make sales.
