Different versions of the R61s!!??

Everyone, check this out.
While looking around for reviews of R61s, my jaws dropped cuz I just discovered different R61's are being made.
Here:


the R61 has firewire, audio in and out all to the left side, leaving only the card reader in the front,while here, from our own nbr's review:

The audio in and out is in front like the T61s

Also, usb ports on the right side are horizontal, and keyboard looks weird, Russian, or Greek(Greek keyboard?) or something, not sure.


One last thing. IBM LOGO!!!


I'm amazed that no one have caught this, just as I have before. I thought I had seen these different location of ports between the R61 and T61 in some pictures, but dismissed them cuz i cant find those pics again. Now its here they are. Pics from a nice site, with detailed review. What more can you ask?

So, did i just missed something BIG, or are these actually 2 dif versions of the R61s?
And does anyone know where to get the ones with ports on the sides, cuz I like that one a hell lot more.

*update: just found out that that is a German key board, and this particular version is sold here:

Wow. I thought I've seen everything on NBR, but I guess I haven't.

The simple answer to your overblown, over-exaggerated announcement is that different screen sizes of T61/R61's have different port arrangements. The one with audio ports on the side and media card reader on the front is the 15.4" laptop. The one with audio ports on the front is the 14.1" laptop. A little better researching skills could've saved us this completely unnecessary "newsflash."
