Hey guys, just wondering, will there be different discounts available on the actual days of black friday/cyber monday?
I've seen that the sale ends December 1st, but I'm curious because honestly the deals they're offering right now are pretty crappy for certain models, and not any better (if not worse) than the deals offered in weeks and months past.

How has it been in years past?

Edit- This is specifically for Lenovo's site

Crapy deals? The T440s is discounted 18%. That seems pretty solid. The highest you can expect is 20% currently. The L series is also discounted by a lot. What are you specifically looking for?

Yeah, I noticed this too. I was waiting for Black Friday deals because I thought they would be better than earlier in the month. Turn out, for the Y410P, they are worse. More expensive versions with worse displays. Guess I will have to wait more, should have pulled the trigger earlier.

Based on my (perhaps dodgy) memory of previous years there will not be any major changes to the sale on friday/monday, except perhaps a few additional one-offs for specific machines/accessories. I just ordered a T440p with a total 22% discount (EPP/B&N + special sale), which is not bad but historically about average for Lenovo discounts on current machines IMO (Lenovo's always having various sales that can be stacked with other discounts like B&N Gold).

And if there are major price changes you can always request a price match after you order.

As it happens, with B&N + doorbuster deal an actually good model of the y410p is now on sale for 780$. Decent enough

Good luck with that... Discount codes mess up price matching. Basically you'll have to cancel and re-order, or return and re-order.

Seriously? I called Lenovo post-sales support yesterday (after trying to get a chat rep to adjust my price) and the rep said as long as I have a screen cap of the same configuration with the new price, I could get the price match. Was he just blowing smoke to get me off the phone? I'm genuinely curious because I've received a lot of contradictory and fabricated information from different Lenovo reps. It's really soured this whole buying process for me. I'm at the point where if they don't price match I will just return the machine upon arrival and buy from another manufacturer.

BTW cancelling seems like a huge hassle according to other topics on this forum regarding that issue.

That's what people posted in one of the T440s thread when they tried to price match previous orders with the "DOORBUSTER" promotion. I assume they weren't making it up. link1 link2

I had the exact same situation as both of those people: I tried to get a price match on a T440s order (11/11), and the rep basically refused. If I pressed harder, e.g. switched reps, I believe I could have gotten a price match eventually.

In the end, I decided to cancel the order, and place a new one, since the ship dates were only a couple of dates apart (screw you Lenovo), and I wanted to tweak some specs anyways. The canceled order ended up shipping today (I half-expected it, since I tried to cancel too close to the ship date), so I plan on returning the 1st machine once I get it, and keeping the second one.

Again, this is pretty shoddy customer service by Lenovo. Simply another incentive to switch to Apple; if only I didn't hate Mac OSX so much!

Is anyone ordering a T440s today for Black Friday using the DOORBUSTER coupon / B&N combo? I am sitting here debating whether to get one or not. It is pretty much everything a want in a laptop and I suspect the deal isn't going to change much going forward. User reviews are mixed, but not as bad as I have seen in the release of previous new Lenovo laptops.

As Stereodude mentioned, I had the exact same issue. I placed my order at 4PM on Friday, 22nd November. I come back to work on Monday and see that now there is a DOORBUSTER coupon available and with discounts I was getting the exact same config for $150 cheaper. I tried to call and chat with two different reps about this and they both said that nothing could be done to price match me since the lower price now was because of a coupon code. They said that I should cancel my order and re-order from scratch.

When I tried to cancel my order, they could just send a request to the warehouse (mind you, I placed the order on Friday evening and I was asking to cancel first thing Monday morning) and there was no gaurantee that my order will actually cancel. My order might ship and then I would have to return the first order just like arltep has to do now. Fortunately, later on that evening, I saw that my order showed as "cancelled" on their website and the hold was removed from my credit card. My new ship date for the second order was only delayed by 1 day so no big deal.

agree with the op, the t530 with EPP cost $100 more now than a week ago. Would wait to see if the price goes down to $630 after the black friday deal is over.
