What's the difference between XP Professional and Vista Ultimate (referred to consumption of battery) ??

    - I installed on my X61 Windows Vista Ultimate: Vista Business and Vista Ultimate consume the same of battery??

    - Are there much difference of life battery with XP Professional and Vista Ultimate??

    - If I install XP Professional 32 bits the notebook will work perfectly?? And what happen with the 1 Gb of RAM that Windows not recognise??

Thank very much and sorry for all the text..... jejejejeje

Vista consumes a little more battery than XP, but after some Vista tweaks, they would consume pretty much the same amount of energy.

XP Professional 32-bit will work perfectly on the X61.

What 1GB RAM are you talking about? XP 32-bit will recognize about 3.2GB of RAM. Are you asking if you put in 4GB and the recognition of only 3 of them?

One thing the is recomended is to turn AeroGlass off. There is a highly acclaimed program called Vista Battery Manager on Codeplex. It does these things automatically.

Yes, vista Ultimate and busines should consume roughly the ame amount. I'd recommend Vista 64 is you have 4 gigs.

I would go with Vista since you already have the RAM. Word of caution is you may not get some programs, including pre Outlook 2007, and some third party software to run on Vista. Most do. I installed all old programs but only use the most common ones. On a 64 bit systems you might have toruble finding a software firewall but Lenovo purports to offer all the necessary 64 bit device drivers on their site. Let us know how it goes if you go down that route. I have seem many posts by folks who run it successfully but the lack of a firewall (other than Mister Softees own) bothers me since I am in the field a lot and using other folk's Wi-Fi etc.
