What is the reason for the X100e? Why would one entertain this over the Edge 13? Which is more powerful? It is so hard to tell these days with the CPU numbers meaning so little by comparison.

The x100e is smaller. The edge has faster CPU options, the AMD models of each have slightly faster GPUs.

Edge 13 is more powerful since it has a dual core. Edge 13 have bigger screen and have the ability to choose intel's culv. The keyboard, trackpad, and trackpoint is better than x100e. Edge 13 is more expensive.

Is the ATI that is in the AMD faster than the GPU that comes in the X201?

Where are you drawing these conclusions from?

In actual game benchmarks the HD3200 does seem to do better than the new Intel 5700. At least according to World of Warcraft and Laptopmag. But in 3dmark06 the new Intel graphics win

I believe it is a little bit faster than the x201, but the processor is alooootttttt sloooooooowwwwer

The keyboard is bigger, touchpad is bigger, not sure about trackpoint but it's probably better too.

Keyboard isn't bigger, they're both 100% ISO. Bigger touchpad is a bonus, but really they're both big enough, should be more worried about performance, how well multi-gesture work and feel. Trackpoint is probably better? ok...

The keyboard is slightly larger on the edge 13, look more carefully at the side where enter and shift resides.( As for the trackpoint, since the keyboard is slightly larger the trackpoint could preform better just because the add real estate. *) * I'm think I am wrong about the trackpoint.

    EDIT:
    2. Stroke: 2.5 mm (* The X100e is 2.0 mm)

The TrackPoint will work the same, but the x100e has better designed TrackPoint buttons.

Nice article. The difference in size is still null, I don't think anyone is hitting the the enter/backspace/shift keys on the very right edge of their keys. But the stroke part is good to know, so the keys on the x100e do not depress as much as the Edge's keyboard, or a traditional Thinkpad keyboard.

The x100e is very easy to type on. The keyboard size is moot. The only crappy part is the arrow buttons with the page up and page down...
