Can someone kindly explain the difference between T61 an R61? They can both be configured exactly the same. I am not sure why R series is cheaper.

    Thank you

Simply putting the title of your thread in the search box yields your answer, over and over again :)

The difference for me was not enough to pay the extra few bucks, then Lenovo had a T61 10% coupon (since expired) that made the the T61 cheaper so I bought it.

According to Lenovo descriptions, R series seems heavier?

R series is 0.2lb heavier, 0.2 inch thicker, but you got the pride of owning a T series laptop over R serires, and that all I care. It's like driving a Toyota(R)instead of a Lexus (T)

Yeah, I've read the R series is about 0.2 pounds heavier and around 4 mm thicker.
