    Hello,

This may sounds like a dummy question. I need to make a quick decision to possibly take advantage of 25% discount ending today.

I never used Thinkpad. I went to lenovo.com and did a quick research and could not find the difference.

I simply want to know whether the heat is an issue and how bad with T60. I noticed that some in this forum reported this issue.

Do you usually buy 3-year next-bussines day onsite service? Was your laptop ever serviced during a 3 year period?

If I go with this T60 specs:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7600 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2, 667MHz FSB)[1]
    Genuine Windows XP Professional[12]
    15.4 WSXGA+ TFT
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 128MB
    2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)[8]
    No integrated fingerprint reader
    100GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm[4]
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim[5]
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG[10]
    9 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]

Do you think it is worth to wait for T61 15.4'' to come out?

Thanks so much for your input!

    Best,
    David

The T60p comes with a better graphics card (ATI firegl 5250). I have a T60p and have no problems with heat. Palmrests remain cool even after hours of work. The fan does run frequently but it is very quiet. Unless the room is silent, I can't hear it.

turnerpr, thanks for your input. I noticed that T60p also has

ThinkPad 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter

    in contrast to T60's

ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter (NO n)
