    Hello,

Could someone tell me the difference between the R400 and the T400? I'm a graphic designer and need a computer that can handle the entire adobe suite, several programs at a time and I'm a current T61 user, but can't figure out what is so different about the two that they designate one "R" and the other "T"...

I should also mention that I travel for a living so this thing gets carried all the time.

    thanks

The T400 is thinner and lighter, and has the options of more powerful internals, including discrete switchable graphics. The R400 is bulkier and more budget-friendly, and in general its options are lower-end. The build quality should be the same. If you care a lot about mobility or looks, the T400 will be a better choice as it is lighter and thinner (and more visually appealing).

The Adobe suite is, I believe, mostly CPU and not GPU dependent, so either one with a 2GHz+ Core 2 Duo should run it quite nicely.
