I would like to remove the keyboard of my T510. According to the

ThinkPad T510, T510i, and W510 Hardware Maintenance Manual
    http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/63y0536.pdf

It is so easy (page 93, 94):

    >>Push down the keyboard a little toward the arrow 2 until the front edge of the keyboard is detached from the keyboard bezel.

However, no matter how hard my push is, I am unable to see "front edge of the keyboard is detached from the keyboard bezel". Actually, I am unable to see any sign of detach.

Before this step, I did removed battery and bottom memory slot.

I feel Lenovo's instructions are not right.

    Thanks for any input!

    Regards.

Did you undo the two screws on 93 as well?

You could try the Service Training videos from Lenovo to have a visual idea of how to remove the keyboard from your T510.

Hi Commander, thanks for chiming in. I did not. After I removed the two screws on page 93, I was able to remove the keyboard. The picture on 93 is not very clear and initially I thought they were two screws for the memory cover.

    Again, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hearst, thank you too!!!

    Best.

Step 1 under the Keyboard heading (page 93, immediately before the "push keyboard" drawing) is about removing the two screws. :D

I just wanted to share a laugh. I "fought" with the ThinkPad keyboard in my first time, worse than you did: I broke two keys in the struggle.
