I just got my X200 and did my own fresh install of Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. Initially, after the installation of just Vista, 4 GB HDD space was used up. After installing all the Lenovo drivers and thinkvantage apps, I have used up 22GB! How is this possibe?

    This was my process:

    I manually installed:
    -Intel Chipset Utility
    -Intel Matrix Storage manager
    -Intel graphics driver
    -Thinkpad Power management driver

The rest I used Thinkvantage System Update application. It only downloaded 500MB but somehow, I have installed about 18GB worth of data???

    I have a Thinkpad X200

    Is that normal? Any suggestions?

    Great reply.

Most likely there is a lot of space being used by system restore and temporary system files. Do a disk cleanup and report back.

Sorry, I didn't know that's what you meant. I did do that but it only came up with IE temp files, and hibernation memory. Didn't add up to 20GB though.

What about the "more options" tab and cleaning up system restore & shadow copies?
