I paid for turbo memory on my new T61 but I can't find anything showing that I actually have it. How do I confirm this? Someone posted this question before and was answered that he should just look under start/programs. I have nothing there regarding the turbo memory. Does this mean I got screwed. Also if I do have the turbo memory how do I access settings so that I may enable/disable?

Look under storage controllers or something like that and you should see something like case-logic chip. This is in device manage BTW.

There is a turbo memory console in start>programs>intel turbo memory console

i highly doubt that they would screw you like that. If you flip your keyboard up, you will see the memory all the way to the left.

I can't find it under storage controllers and I don't have the turbo memory console in my programs. Any other ideas? How do I lift the keyboard? Here is a screenshot of my device manager....

from that it looks like you dont have it or its defective, take off the keyboard and look for it, if its not there, then the chineses factory workers forgot it. LOL @ chinese sweatshops /cry on your shoulder

hopefully, you get this organized in a TIMELY manner by lenovo.

yeah you don have it. in order to open the keyboard, you will have to remove 5 screws on the bottom of the laptop. The five that you are looking for have a little keyboard icon next to them. once you remove them, flip the laptop around, remove the wrist rest and the keyboard will pull right out.

If you take a look at the sticky you can see a video on how to do this.

they saved you the trouble of not getting BSOD's. Give them a call and have them refund you for the cost of the memory plus the inconvenience.

not too sure how much they would give you, but if I were you, I would call them up and play "dumb". If you call them acting like you know everything you arent going to get a thing.

Like i mentioned a few weeks ago, i know someone that suckered lenovo out of a windows vista ultimate license.

    As for helping you out...anytime

Well, look on the bright side, they overcharge $50 on the turbo memory so if you get that money back you can go to amazon and get it for $29.

Everyone gets screwed by Lenovo who buys Turbo Memory. Whether they receive it or not. After all it doesn't actually give you any performance increase.

Ok, just one more question because I am calling support right now. Did opening up the computer to look for the turbo memory void my warranty?

Ok the rep on the phone told me that Turbo Memory wasn't included in my original order (although I'm positive I asked for it). I tried to confirm through my configuration parts list. Isn't the turbo mem the 1 Gig I highlighted all the way at the bottom?

No, lol. That would be a 1GB stick of standard RAM, not the Turbo memory. If you ordered 2Gb of Ram in 2 sticks, I think that the extra stick is what you highlighted. my order reads the exact same.

Oh man, even if he claims he paid for it, he's never going to win now. The moral of the story is: check your order invoice after your pay. The same goes for fast food restaurants, no reason why Lenovo should be any different.

anyway, i never thought about big supplier lenovo not only charge me a full amount turbo memory and "missed" it but also not able to find out they did that mistake. I will give them a call monday and hope lenovo realized there are number of people get jacked from them.

i wouldnt say thats my fault for not checking my invoice. It is buyers and sellers responsibility to make transaction correct. there are number of people dont understand complex invoice. So it is their thought were born stupid or something?

umm i am not 100% sure, but i remember i checked the invoice and it does have turbo memory. I did not save it the page anyway. Comon a turbo memory cost like $30 bucks i wont get angry for such little thing. I am just disappointed and start raising concerns on lenovo system and their abilities selling stuff. I am also amazed they do not have a details record on buyers transaction or do they?

I'm not saying its your fault that they screwed up. Obviously, they shouldn't screw up in the first place. What I am saying, though, is that you need to cover your ass by playing on the defensive and checking everything they do for errors. When you cover your ass and they screw up, you can call them on it. If you don't cover your ass, they screw up and get away with it, just like this in this predicament of yours.
