I'm considering sending in my T400 for a screen replacement. I have a small, white spot only visible in bright backgrounds such as white or light grey and not visible at all times. Based on forum searches this is likely a backlight problem. I have the WXGA+ LG led panel and apparently this is the better panel compared to the Samsung. I assume there is no guarantee they will replace it with the same panel. Has anyone had experience with screen replacements from the depot service in Memphis, TN (Flextronics)? I have no blemishes, scratches, etc. on my laptop and I am concerned there may be damage from changing the panel in addition to not receiving an LG.

There's no way to guarantee you will receive either panel, it's entirely luck of the draw based on the parts availability at the depot. You could try to request an LG panel (tell them the part number), but there's no guarantee they'll be able to, or be willing to meet it.

This is what I thought....not sure if it's worth the hassle and gamble. Thanks.
