Hi guys, I've just bought a X200T and it came in couple days ago. I switched it back to XP tablet instead of using Vista home premium. I am not sure how it goes but the computer shuts off in cold if I tild the screen for tablet. It shuts off when it's 90degrees every time and it happens on battery. I had to take out the battery and plug it in again after couple seconds before it can boot up again. Is it a defective one or is it the bug?(it even shuts down for booting into XP so I doubt it's a bug on XP)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's tough to get this repaired during session of school

That is an unusual problem. Are you saying that your computer turns off (not standby) when you open the screen, or when you twist and flip it down? Either way this should not be happening. I have tried both Vista and XP Tablet on my x200T (I actually find that Vista works better for tablets) and I don't have this problem. When I put my screen in tablet mode it does flip the display (portrait vs. landscape) and goes blank for about two seconds, but it promptly comes back (I even have mine change to a portrait wallpaper).
Have you tried using it while just plugged in (no battery), or just on battery (no AC). It is possible that just one of these parts is faulty, and that would be a quick and easy fix. However, if you get the same problem in both cases, my best guess is that you have faulty wiring internally (twisting the screen causes a short?) and this is the root of the problem. This is probably more difficult to fix, although it would almost certainly be covered by warranty.
You could also give a Live Linux distro (Ubuntu 8.10 works well with the x200) a shot and see if the problem occurs there. That would almost certainly prove if you have a hardware or software problem. -
Thanks for the quick reply!
The computer just turns off cold when I twist(to about half way thru). I tried with only battery or with AC or both and it acted the same. The computer just shut off and the light for being plugged in was gone as well. It had the same thing happen on tilting both side as well
I tried to do the test just on BIOS and it was the same, I guess it wasn't the OS causing the problem anymore.
I guess I will have to talk to the customer support and see if they can send me parts instead of sending it over there to it fixed -

Updated story: I gave them I call and they could only direct me to send it back unfortunately. That was unusual for them as well and it was not the common problem among X200T.
That was the second Lenovo in 2months among my friends that came in defective. They seriously need to work on QC but not only in service in order to stay on top of the game
Thank you and I appreciate your advices
