Deciding which one to go for. T420s og T420. HELP PLZ

Hi there. I have come to a final conclusion. I have picked those two and only need you to help me pull the trigger.
The t420s vs t420
They tell me that you can only put 8gb max in the S. Can you pyt 2 ram sticks in it?

How is the t420 compared to the t410s?

 

You can add up to 16GB of RAM in all the current-generation Thinkpads, although for some reason the "official" max is 8GB for some models.

The T420s is wider but not as deep as the T410s, due to the move to 16:9 screens. The T420 is wider but not as deep as the T410s, for the same reason. It is also thicker than the T410s.

In general, I would recommend the T420 over the T420s as the latter is not worth the price premium, in my opinion. Also, the T420 is available with a higher-capacity battery than the T420s, so it can last longer on the go.

 

Price is not a problem.

 

I should be rather good with a i5 and quadro technology since I am mainly all the time on the run? Thats why I think the S to be a better option.
I have tried to find a simple answer regarding the i5 vs the i7 and found none.

 

If you are mostly on the run, then T420s' 3 hour battery isn't gonna make it easy. If you add the ultrabay battery, you can possibly go over 4 hours.

i7 just decreases the battery compared with i5.

If price and battery life are of no concern, definitely go with the T420s for the lighter weight.

 

The weight difference this generation is not that severe however, the T400s I had and then passed on to family got its screen wrecked and those screens are really badly expensive. I appreciate the sturdiness of the T420, no s. After that screen incident, the moment Panasonic releases a usable laptop with ExpressCard or Thunderbolt, I go back to Panasonic. Wreck that.

 

I can squeeze up to about 8 hours from my T420s with the bay battery and moderately dim display (6/15).
