    How does this deal sound?

Also, I never had an IBM/Lenovo before, and I can tell you I am concerned about the build quality (especially after it's been sold). I searched for build quality issues on this forum and of course if you look for it you'll find it :)

Okay, I'm open to all suggestions and opinions. Thanks.

What are you going to be using the laptop for? If you waited you could probably get a cheaper price, but some people don't care.

    Is 80gb sufficient for you?
You're planning on purchasing another stick of ram right?
The price might be ok, especially since you're opting for 3 year warranty.

It's probably possible to pick up the HD adapter cheaper on eBay. How much is lenovo selling it for?

Looks like an excellent deal. Good job.

And thanks for letting me know the T9300 is available now. :D

It'll be replacing my desktop at home, so I want it to have some power.

I'll be upgrading RAM and HD myself. IIRC, on ebay HD adapter were going for about $50, which is what I paid ($49) with this order.

What do you guys feel about T9300? I feel that a lot of people were waiting for it, but I'm not sure how much performance gain it would give you compared to, say, T7500?

I'd get a DVD burner, I use mine a lot. You are also looking for graphics performance, additional RAM would help. Like it was mentioned, 80GB may be small, 15GB for Vista, another 5-10GB for installed apps, some music and pictures and you're out of room.

That seems fine, if it's a desktop replacement definitely up the hard drive to probably 200gb for storage reasons, the T9300 compared to T7500 shouldn't be much but it should save more on battery life. Ram and HDD like you said you are going to be doing yourself so other than that it looks good.

The warranty you grabbed is that just depot or does it include ThinkPad protection?

I think DVD burner is a good idea.

For HDD upgrade, I read good things about 7k200. It's going around for $180 or so? I plan to add a 2G stick. So overall I'll have to spend around $200 more for upgrades.

The warranty I got is just a depot.

I found that there was a 10% coupon that I could've used- Do you think I could call back and tell them this code over the phone and they'll honor it on my existing order?
