Earlier today (and prior), Lenovo's Win7 fulfillment site said that upgrade requests would be taken after July 15th.

Now, it says after July 31st. What's up with that? Dell's website is already up and taking information.

You're not getting it until October. Does it matter if it's July 15th or 31st?

I think you are confused. The purchase dates which qualify have not changed, it is still JUNE 26. They have only changed the date when you can start to fill out the form to request the upgrade, to July 31. July 31 does nothing to affect which customers are able to get the free upgrade, or even when they will get it.

Yes, I know but some say that I qualify and some say that I dont ... I read somewhere that Lenovo can bend a rule quite a bit, so I still hope ;)

What is there to wonder about?

You either ordered before June 26th or you didn't.

I think you should have bought the upgrade on Amazon. The machines must have been purchased on or after the 26th.

What a burn, I ordered May 19th and I was under the impression that April on orders would get the win 7 upgrade. Oh well.

I don't think it's the ship date, but the order date on the invoice.

Mine shipped maybe a week or so after I ordered. In fact I believe it was pretty close to the 10 day build allotment. Either way I think Ill just buy a system builders vista package with free win 7 upgrade.

Mine got shipped after exactly two weeks after the order. I read that they bill you when they ship your machine. So I still hope that I will qualify for the upgrade ...

Good luck with that, but even if they wait until they ship the system before putting the charge through on your credit card, the order date I believe is still the key date for the free upgrade eligibility.

Be sure to let us know how it works out.
