I was browsing through my DVD collection (data cd's, not movie disks) and somewhere in my 20th something DVD i got "Open folder to view files" message, tho previously I was getting full choice of options whether to play it with VLC player or open up in folder etc. When I clicked on it it disappeared but nothing changed.
I opened Computer and saw DVD drive as powered off, I choosed to power it on, but nothing happen, neither doing it with right-click-power on menu feature in computer nor with physically pushing on eject button.
I tried to remove DVD rom from ultrabay and put it back - nothing made it to power on in windows and start to read DVDs, activity LEDs were on and even DVD spun on for some time.
I decided to restart my computer which made it freeze when Win7 was supposedly into restart mode - black screen and nothing happening, only HDD working.
I then forced shutdown with power button.
Powered up again, choosed normal windows startup, Win started normally, but still, DVDs are not reading, in fact - now I cant even eject the DVD tray nor power it up. Status led indicates that Its powered on, windows says its not.

    Suggestions?
    Safe mode?

Update - it appears that it wont accept any external input, not reading, not even seeing my SD card in card reader, first time I insterted card into it LEDs blinked and nothing happened :D

Will try to reboot and see if it helps.

Looks like it was either bad drivers or Windows 7 to blame, restored it to factory default XP instead.

    Hope it will work fine.

Its my current R400, still have it.
Win7 never quite worked for me, multiple freezes on OS boot, real pain to have, not sure what exactly was the cause, previously I had problems after Lenovo/Win updates, but after roll-back everything was fine.
    This came out of nowhere.
Either way, Its all working now with stock XP.
Luckily my T410 will be with Win7 64bit by default without lousy XP downgrade :D
Lousy because I really like the way Win7 looks and works ;)

No, not yet, I dont even know approximate date of delivery, tho confirmation mail I received stated that information considering my replacement unit will be updated online within 2-3 working days and it was on December 22nd.
I should get it within 10-14 days from the day it was ordered (supposedly Dec.22).
Im gonna wait till next week and if it doesnt arrive till 10th January then will contact Lenovo regarding delay, if such occurs.
