I am trying to use my DVD drive to load some software of a DVD (Flight Simulator X) and it is not working. I right click on the drive and I have a choice of selecting Power ON but it does nothing.

    Windows 7 64 Pro on a relatively new W510.

try to remove the dvd drive and reinsert it or try to plug in power adapter. it can be caused by power saving.

Thanks. I think the power supply wasn't completely connected. Now it's working.

It's a power saving feature in power manager that can be turned off.
