Hi. I have a DVD drive on T61. When I was stopping and removing the USB memory keys using the "Removing storage device" icon in the tray, I think I accidentally also stopped the DVD drive. :( Now the DVD drive doesn't work any more (pushing the little button on the drive doesn't open the drive). It doesn't show up in My Computer. It also disappeared from Device Manager. How can I get it back?
    Thanks a ton!

Never mind. I restarted the computer and it came back.

It's a problem most likely related to the letter naming of the drives. Change the memory sticks to something beyond the range of A-G and it should help prevent it. Or change the DVD drive to something else. Bottom line is that if you're using lots of portable storage devices, you're going to need to watch the letter assignment of the drives.

Thank you for the reply! That's probably exactly the reason of the related problem I mentioned in another thread-- D: drive (optial) disappearing after I reformat each disc (and occasionally there appear two D: drive icons!), though this happens even when I'm not using any other drive.
