Customizing a Thinkpad

I am contemplating buying a Thinkpad and I wanted to know if anyone knew how to get the option for bluetooth module when customizing the T61? Also does anyone know whether you can use coupons on the T500? any knowledgeable replies would be appreciated as I want to buy by the end of the week and it looks like I can get a smashing deal on the T61.

 

You can't configure bluetooth on T61 -- they say there's a backorder of the modules for that system and thus they take the option off the website. Sales rep I spoke with said they can't even configure the option so you can't call and have them add it.

I don't know about T500 coupons. It's easy enough to try out though since coupons are applied before you have to give any credit card info. Try it out and see.

 

I don't believe any of the coupons work for the T500. They are trying to get rid of the old stocks of T61s. That's why they have the coupons. The T500s are too new to have coupons yet.

No idea -- trick is nobody knows when they'll remove the T61 either. T61p disappeared in late July with no warning. T61 will likely suffer same fate one of these days.

 

Lenovo had some university deals over the summer and students grabbed the cheap deals. T61p disappeared cause of the sudden increase of orders (or maybe reserved for university deals/discounted T61p). My buddy ordered his T61p last week through the phone using the university dicounts.
