x61s - Going from Vista Home Basic to XP Professional is +79 dollars.

I could probably keep it home basic, then order xp home (89?) or xp professional (130 something? dont know) from newegg instead.

Either way would probably involve a clean format with self installed hard drive upgrade.

Any reason not to do the newegg method?

I personally would just order it with XP pro, it would be easier that way. But if you want to have both OS's, then get vista.
