    They refuse to make me a W700 with a crossfire ATI 4870 configuration as an option!!

    How dare they wag my perfect laptop in front of my face and not put in a ATI 4870 crossfire option!!!

    The "perfect" anything doesn't really exist in mass production. Practical engineering for manufacturing takes compromises :).

    if you want a crossfire laptop that bad, you should be in the Sager or Alienware forums.

    Actually I would point the finger at the marketing department. Generally the engineers implement what the marketing department comes up with. That being said, I would love to have a 4870 in a Thinkpad.

    That is not usually the case at all...

    There are product directors and development managers that work up ideas... and then engineers that actually try to implement practical products, but it certainly isn't just marketing coming up with whatever they want to to sell.

    I think you should reexamine what marketing does :) .

    That actually sounds pretty good. Lenovo's business laptops = ThinkPad, consumer = IdeaPad, gaming could be GamePad :D

    I like ThinkPad's just the way they area. If they started putting overpowered GPUs into them, they'd be just as bad as any other of the lap-burning gaming laptops out there.
