ok. so i just started using the crucial.com memory (ram) scanner. i used it for my thinkpad 600. First time i checked my laptop, it detected 224mb of ram.
(yes i know my 600 is old nd slow =D)
then i went to my "system properties" and it said 288mb of ram. ???
so i thought it was the different numbering system that my the system properties read higher? + i couldn't check my memory sticks itself b/c it had a stripped screw head. so about a month later (without any changes to laptop) i checked the memory scanner on crucial.com and this time it detected 288mb. ummmm???? ok here are the results
so i cut off the plastic around the srew and open my memory stick lid. and yup there were 2x 125mb and internal 32mb.
so i dont really recommended crucial.com memory scanner.
(or just double check when you use it)

its much easier to use other utilities such as cpuz to determine system information. you have many other options.
