I just got my t400 and I was going to create restore dvd's to back up vista business 64.

I went to the "Backup status and configuration" on the start menu. When I went through that wizard it said I will need 7 to 11 dvd's. To me this seems insane...shouldn't it fit on like 2? There are 3 partitions, "SERVICEV003 (806.7 MB used)", "SW_Preload (34.1GB used)", and "Lenovo (7.2 GB used)"

Do I really need to back up the 34GB one? what is it? Sorry for my noobie question but I'm not sure which I need and which I don't.

    Thanks everyone!

Looks like you are looking at the backup in RnR which basically is for whole drive backup. To create recovery media. Go to Start->All programs->Thinkvantage->Create product recovery media. Alternatively, trying to open the lenovo(Q) partition will also direct you to the same place to burn recovery media.
