I was wondering if I partition off ~40GB of my 95GB free on drive c, is this going to mess up any recovery tools or software on a lenovo laptop?

I usually create myself a partition to seperate all the core windows mess from my actual work (lot of programming, etc, compilations, tmp folders, etc as well as some standalone apps i like to put on d:\applications).

I have a registered copy of parition magic that i've been using for years on other machines, will any ill effects come from using it to partition off some of my free space?
