The current 10% off coupon applies to the Contractors program (good through tonight, 4/13), so I couldn't pass it up.
T420
Core i5-2520M
Win7 Pro x64
2GB RAM
250GB hard drive
1600x900 display with webcam
Optimus switchable graphics
Intel 6300 and bluetooth
1-year warranty with onsite
I'm hoping to pull my 8GB of RAM from my T400, and my 500GB Scorpio Black, and swap them into the new machine; I'll swap the 2GB and the 250GB into the T400, which I'll probably sell to my wife's sister.
I hated having to make the LCD choice without seeing both panels; I'll have to switch to large fonts and hope I'll be happy. Other than that, it looks good.

There seems to be good deals on the Lenovo US site, especially with the extra 10% coupon (as if it's isn't cheap enough). I just wish we had the share of the love over our side, i'm seriously considering one but just waiting whether they bring out any coupons. The wait is agonising!

congrats, pm me the price you paid

PM sent.
For everyone here, note that the coupon 48HOURS is only good through the end of tonight. The bonus is that it stacks on top of the Contractor (also known as the Friends and Family) portal, which starts out $70 cheaper than the regular Lenovo.com price.
I've been looking through Dell and Lenovo's outlets for a 1440x900 previous-gen model, but the price differential wasn't good enough compared to this, and there was only tonight to decide due to the limit of the coupon. -
First of all congratz! I bought one yesterday too but with i3.
I am planning on getting a 500gb 7200rpm hd to go with my new machine and is wondering if the scorpio black is loud? -
The drive is quiet. However, on occasion I can feel mild vibration through the palmrest. This is normal. Some of it is the drive, some of it is Lenovo's way of mounting the HDD in the ThinkPad T400.
It's still the drive choice I'd currently make. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about Seagate's Momentus XT, and my experience with their large-capacity desktop drives in the past two years has been one of below-average reliability. Western Digital's customer support (if you need an RMA) is currently the best in the business, with far less hassle as advance-replacement goes.
Couldn't resist, and pulled the trigger...
