I opted out of buying the model with the 24gb SSD because I thought about buying a larger SSD that would fit an OS and all my software needs, instead of just caching. However, I also heard that the models without the SSD don't have a NGFF port, anyways I just want some clarification on this matter. Whether or not I could put a third party NGFF SSD into a model that doesn't come with the 24gb SSD?

    1. There are no publicly availible NGFF (M.2 42mm) SSD's currently availible on the market.

    2. Some models ship with the connector, some don't. You should open up and check for yourself. Be careful when opening up this laptop, however.

    3. Why not just put a 2.5 inch SSD in the ultrabay? Caddies are only 10$, then just screw on the faceplate of the disc drive and you're good to go. Plus, 2.5 inch SSD's are cheaper and faster.

So there's an open bay where I could just add another 2.5 inch drive?

Yeah, just take out the DVD drive.
