    Hi all.

I´m in the market for a new laptop. I currently have an Amilo M1437G, generally i´m ok satisfied with it except for the build quality and the cpu power. The screen on the other hand is superb.

My dad recently got a fully loaded z60t and as expected the feel and build quality is miles above any other laptop i´ve personally have come across.

But in order to check all my boxes I would like to know if there is or - in the near future - will be a IBM/Lenovo model with both core duo and a glossy screen in the Z or T series?

I saw on lenovo.com that they annonced a new budget N series wich seems to have some sort of glossy widescreen called VibrantView - is that a correct assumption that this is some kind of glossy screen? And will that be introduced on some of the higher end models in the near future?

To sum it up I´m looking for a Z or T series with 14" or 15.4" glossy widescreen AND dual core - i guess the N series simply looks to chunky and low budget.

Thanks in advance for your help guys

Not too likely in the near future.. ThinkPads are business machines. I would suggest a Fujitsu or an Asus if you would like something with good build quality and a glossy screen. The N100s build quality is not on par with a ThinkPad, but who else is?

I think not, but we'll know when they are annouced in May. ThinkPads are business machines and I think their designers don't like glossy. Glossy screens don't do well in offices. Their is a MaxBright version of the z60, but it is only brighter not glossy.

ok that´s a litttle disappointing for me - would be a nice touch if one would have the opportunity to choose between a "business" screen and a glossy one!

Just afraid it´s gonna be though going back to a normal screen when i´m used to a glossy

I own a z60m with MaxBright. I can honestly say, that it is the brightest screen I have seen. Its brighter then Hp/Compaq "BrightView" for sure. Its even brighter then my Dell 19" LCD destop display. Also, I do have a notebook with a glossy screen and compared to the matte z60m screen, I would pick the z60m screen anyday. I never understood why people want a display that has a reflection back into your eyes.

Maybe they work in places with no mirrors and want to check their hair from time to time. :D
