I'm planning to buy ThinkPad T60. I want to learn if the cooling vents are on the bottom of the notebook or on the sides. My old notebook's (Toshiba Satellite A30) vents were on the bottom. Therefore I could not locate the notebook on to my legs. Because if I put it on a place that is not flat, the cooling vents were closed and the notebook was getting hot, shut down suddenly. I had to put it on a table or something flat. You know, it is really uncomfortable because it is a laptop PC, but I have to use it like a desktop PC. That's why ask you the location of the cooling vents.

Actually I'm planning to wait ThinkPad T60 with Core 2 Duo processor. Maybe it differs the location of the vents, but it is not much possible. It seems to be the same design with Core Duo-T60's . I want to ask your opinion.

The vents are on the sides. I use mine on my lap all the time and I've had no discomfort at all.
