My big question is: should I get the laptop with the builtin WWAN card?
- How is the battery life impacted by the use of the builtin WWAN?
- Do you happen to know how is the performance (speed and battery impact) of the built in WWAN card compared to the USB 3G or EVDO modems?
- Any comments about Verizon service compared to other providers such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile? According to a review I read somewhere AT&T's 3G has the best speeds.
- Do you know what is the cheapest provider option?
- Does the laptop come with any have any special Verizon offer for new X300 customers?
- I live in Boston and I'm traveling a lot (by train) to Connecticut. Any information you might have on the coverage in this area?
Thanks!

Thanks. That's a useful website although I couldn't find info specific to the x300 built-in modem...

One thing I can say is that verizon's evdo service works very well on amtrak's northeast corridor in general. The card will occasionally drop down to the slower analog connection when you go through a remote area, but will go back to evdo as soon as it can. I'm often online in the train 3-4 hours a week, and I find that it rarely disconnects. Pretty impressive considering the train is moving pretty fast along those routes.
Considering the x300 but have some questions about the WWAN + Verizon service
