    Hi all!

    I'm considering to buy a refurbished Lenovo T60 (2007-WU2).

    Specs:

    -Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66GHz)
    -1GB DDR2 SODIMM
    -14.1" XGA TFT LCD 1400x1050
    -ATI Mobility Radeon™ X1300
    -60GB Serial ATA-150
    -DVDRW Multi Writer
    -A 9 cell battery
    -6 month warranty

The plan is to upgrade the RAM & HD.

The shop sells this machine for 475€. The catch is that it has a minor scratch in the bottom of the screen, about 1cm wide. No big deal for me.

Do you think that's a good deal? I'm going to have to send my Zepto in for repairs and thought to buy something for that time, maybe selling the Zepto after it is fixed.

Does that thing have a chance of playing 720p videos?

Whats that in US, like 800-900? Seems like a bit much but I don't really know about lenovo pricing outside the US.

    475 Euros = 668.9425 U.S. dollars.

Way too high, for plenty of reasons. While I know prices are higher overseas, my T400 cost $880 plus tax, with a faster processor, more RAM, a larger hard drive, WXGA+, webcam, Bluetooth, memory card reader, fingerprint reader and a one-year warranty (which I have the option to extend). And a Core

If I downgraded to a WXGA display and removed fingerprint reader, memory card reader, Bluetooth, and the webcam (to come closer to the T60), I could probably drop the price by $100, and have specs that are pretty close.

In the U.S., that T60 woule be worth approximately $300USD. For further reference, I own a ThinkPad T61, with the following specs:

Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4GHz (so, faster, with 64-bit support and hardware virtualization), 4GB RAM
    200GB 7200rpm hard disk, DVD +/-RW
Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M video with 1280x800 display
a/b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, Fingerprint reader, 4-in-1 memory card reader
One caveat --the battery is flat.

I could probably get $450 for that system, which is a bit over one year old, with about eight months remaining of factory warranty.

it seem to be overprice for an old T60.
