I'm trying to connect to a WPA2 wireless connection, and it's not working for me. The connection works for others, and I have the password, but my computer says that Windows cannot connect. I am using an R400 with Vista Basic. What are the steps I should take to connect to a WPA wireless signal?

    Thanks

Oh, and the signal is strong, so is it an encryption error (whatever that means)? Sorry, I'm practically computer illiterate.

    It's WPA2. Is encryption the AES/TKI thing?

Just change it to WPA instead of 2, I can bet it would work then... Some cards wont allow access to WPA2 encryption

Change the router to WPA2 or the wireless setting on my computer? The router is not mine so I can't do anything about it...

what wireless card do you have? Check your device manager

Whos router are you logging in to? Theres security settings in the router that might stop you from connecting.

I'm not even sure if my computer is capable of connecting to a WPA2 network. Might this be the case if I have an R400? It's a pretty new computer so I don't know why it wouldn't be able to connect though. I did the parts lookup and the wireless card is a WLAN 5100 card.
