I'm looking to connect my X200 to a series of TV's, each of which could have a different set of inputs. I'm going to play it safe and looking to convert the VGA to RCA. This will be for displaying pictures and perhaps video clips taken by my camera.

Has anyone successfully be able to do this on a Thinkpad? I was originally looking at this adapter ( http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4116659&CatId=467) but it seems that not everyone has had luck with it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

vga to vga is the best

you would need an expensive tuner to convert vga to RCA

+1 for VGA to VGA. Assuming, of course, the TVs have a VGA input.

I agree, ideally VGA to VGA would work the best, but I highly doubt all (if any) of the TVs I will encounter will have this feature. I looked into the active scan option and I found a few "PC to TV" modules off eBay that look to accomplish the job. Looks promising but I'll do a bit more research first. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

I've been considering the same option. It's not a problem with VGA, but VGA is only found on LCD tv's usually. if you go with svideo, I've found this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15524~r.47298521

I didn't buy it, but it seems pretty cheap.

I've suggested that Lenovo will make a cable from the docking station output to HDMI, since it has a DisplayPort on the docking station. but I think that Lenovo rather sell you the whole $200 docking station instead of a $40 cable. I think many owners of this model would have bought such a cable.

I think that's the exact same model I linked to (only in white).

I definitely fall into the category that would buy an HDMI adapter cable (especially if it drove 1080P with 6 channel audio). I've considered the docking station, but it's the size/weight more than the price (although its quite high if all you want is digital video out) that turns me off that idea.
