    Hey,

Is it possible to connect normal internal hdd (connected to external power).
Using a sata to eSata cable?

    I tried and it didn't work :(

    Thank you!

I'm not clear on what you're trying to do. I have an external enclosure with a regular notebook 2.5" Sata hard drive in it and the enclosure has an eSata connector. I don't need external power for it, the enclosure also has a USB connector so it draws power from USB and transfers data via the eSata cable. This results in much faster transfer rates than using USB alone (roughly double or more).

I don't know how you would apply power to just the drive (outside an enclosure) while connecting with Sata to eSata cable.

Assuming you are running power seperately to the drive, yes it's possible to connect a SATA to a eSATA with a cable that has a SATA and eSATA connector.

    I've done it before.
