Just received my X1 Carbon. It does have a 3G WWAN installed but no SIM Card.

I understand I need to get a SIM and a plan from AT&T but I cannot figure out how to do it from anything I've found on Lenovo or the AT&T websites.

Must I call? If so, who? And exactly what do I ask as I fear getting someone who has no idea what I'm talking about.

    Thanks so much.

I asked my cell phone provider for a SIM card and a plan that they usually sell with a 3g USB key, telling them I already got the USB key.
I'm in France but it should be the same in the US.

When I first bought an ipad I got the 3G capable one. Very frequently I would ge a message stating I hadn't signed up for a data plan yet and would I like to do so. I then pulled the SIM card out of my iphone 4 and stuck it in the ipad, under settings I told the ipad it was a phone and it worked. Soon ATT sent me a nasty email that I shouldn't do that. So I looked into actually setting up the ipad as a 3G device.

You go to ATT they give you a sim card that you can activate or deactivate on a monthly basis for $20. Kinda handy if you travel and only want to activate it for short term basis.
