yay, i was waiting to hear of 14 in t60 ws before i register to this site
-
WSXGA+ seems very unlikely. WXGA+ would make more sense.
-
would they include a palm rest that has "lenovo thinkpad" on the right side instead of the "IBM thinkpad" ? just kidding
i agree that wxga+ would be right with that size. wsxga+ on a 14in is weird -
Will Santa Rosa be out by then? I woulda figured Lenovo would wait until that was available to put out their (T/R/X)61 models
-
14" seems a bit too small for WSXGA+ resolution. Wouldn't it be better on a 15"?
Looking forward to the T61p as well...and hopefully it will have more than 2.5hrs of battery life -
1680x1050, WSXGA+ on a 14 I do not think is possible or even exists? It's like having 1920x1280, WUXGA+ on a 15.4" Wide ... -_-;;
I think these new ones will bear the Lenovo name instead of IBM's, as I have been seeing threads around here/thinkpads.com talking about that.
I honestly dont really see a big difference between the 15.4" and the 14.1" sizes in terms of size/portability/weight. But then again I haven't really thoroughly looked into the differences between the two. -
If they're going to take IBM name out, they might as well add firewire and multimedia card reader
BTW, not sure if this will apply to 14" WS, but since I have T60 15" at home and T60 14" at work, I can tell you that 14" frame design is much more solid/sturdy and has less flex than 15". Believe it or not, this extra 1" diagonally makes a big difference. Maybe 14" WS will be the same width as a regular 15"? I'm also thinking that 14" WS will probably be an industry "standard" glossy, and not FlexView (one of the best displays. period!) -
I have a 14.1" widescreen on my Z60t and don't like it. My new 4:3 standard screen T60p is much better for web surfing. I don't have to scroll up and down so much.
I'm glad I didn't wait. -
And it the screen is going to be matte. period. Any talk of glossy is just wishful thinking -
-
Well, it is both. There are more pixels and the vertical real estate is bigger. The widescreen is shorter vertically even with the higher res over my Z60t. Plus I really do like the smaller, lighter design. My T60p weighs in a half a pound lighter than the widescreen Z60t. I think this is a perfect size. And I even own a Sony Vaio TR3A.
Confirmed: T61 coming soon. 14" Widescreen
