Hey everyone,
Is there a way to configure the Y580 to always be running on the Geforce GTX? At the moment it seems everytime I unplug the charger from my laptop my framerates drop drastically. If I play while charging my laptop the framerates are much better. I assume when you dont have the power plugged in, it uses the intel graphics. Is it possible to have it using Geforce graphics at all times?

it uses nvidia graphics on battery too.. just it downclocks the cores to something really really low..

no. the gtx will not run well on battery. It is not designed to allow you to game with the gtx on battery. You will get severe stuttering.
You can use Nvidia Inspector to force the gtx to run at half speed, and that smooths out the performance a little, but it kills your battery fast.
You can force the gtx to run on battery all the time through the nvidia control panel, but during non-gaming, you will not see a performance difference compared to HD4000, plus, doing so will eat your battery up much faster.
so there's really no point using gtx on battery.
Configure Y580 always on Geforce?
