    Hey all,

I've been trying to find an answer to this concern of mine, which is that I will be doing a clean install with the upgrade version of Windows 7. However, since it's the upgrade version, a previous version of Windows needs to be installed already, which I have with Vista Business. When I do the install though, what will I need? Do I need a Windows Vista Business disc, which I don't have (Lenovo shipped me recovery discs, not a standalone Windows CD)? Or do I just need a CD key? It's also a bit more complicated, because I originally bought the Vista Business --> Windows XP downgrade, and after sending it back because of problems, I now have Vista Business...

    Thanks a lot.

Just run the Windows 7 setup in Vista i.e not directly booting into the Win 7 setup DVD. That should allow you to do an upgrade install and during the installation you should be able to do an optional install where it creates a windows.old folder and puts your files in there and is essentially does a clean install. Once installed you can then go ahead restore the data from backup or windows.old folder, reinstall your programs/drivers and delete the windows.old folder.
