    Hi all,

I've more or less decided on purchasing the y510p, although I have concerns with the issues I see with the trackpad. Since I'm mainly planning on using a mouse anyways, I think I will be okay, but if i'm dropping $1,000 on a product i'd like the basic functionality to work well. But anyways, (1) where should I purchase the y510p from? where will I get it from the fastest and/or cheapest? Lenovo.com?; (2) Exactly which model do I want? I want the dual graphics card with SLI. Which one exactly is that on here and how can I tell? IdeaPad Y510p High-Performance 15.6" Multimedia Laptop from Lenovo | Lenovo (US) The last model on the next page?

Finally, is there anything I want to customize when I am purchasing this laptop? (if I decide to pull the trigger). And is getting an extended warranty worth it or is the basic one fine?

As of right now on the product's page, the model on the right says it has SLI. Could be subject to change; it already has since I looked last night...
The trackpad works perfectly fine for me, I don't get these erratic jumps on my cursor. But if you're using a mouse, I guess it doesn't really matter.
If you want the SLI model, there is only one and it'll show it under Optical Device. I think Newegg is still out of stock so the only choices you have are either check with a local store nearby or order straight off Lenovo's site.
I don't think there is any option to customize what you want. The list of specs under each model is what you'll get when you purchase it. And I don't really see the need for extended warranty, but that's just my opinion. From what I've read about, you either get a laptop in good condition or something is wrong with it right off the bat.

Are there any differences between the y410p and y510p other than the screen size and resolutions?

The Y410p doesn't have a number pad like the Y510p does, not that big of a deal, but other than that and the ones you mentioned, I don't think there are any differences.

The y410p does not come with SLI, in any configuration. You have to buy the second GPU ultrabay and install it yourself.

Thanks for clarifying that, I was unsure about whether it had SLI or not so I didn't want to end up posting wrong information.
