I'm figuring that some might think this is a dumb question, but I don't know jack about mobile broadband (Sprint). I ordered a T61 without it, but I was wondering if it could be added without using an external antenna? I was hoping the antenna in the LCD frame is built-in no matter the configuration.

    Thanks for your help.

sorry, you have to go pretty deep into the laptop to add the antenna. you are best off returning what you have and reordering another with it

you can also just get the Spring PCMCIA mobile internet card. It has a built-in antenna so you won't need one in your screen.

edit: Didn't see you didn't want an external antenna. You'll need to edit your order or just cancel it and place a new one. Adding an antenna in the LCD frame is not as easy as adding RAM and will most likely void your warranty.

I would think it depends on the machine and if the wwan was avail in the model you ordered. If it was, I'd guess the antenna is there and all you need do is install the card and plug them in.

i would not ever purchase a laptop with mobile built in.. this is about the worst thing you can do.. I will tell you why.. These services change so often that you cant keep up if its internal.. i was going to get it built in then learned that they did not offer the new REV A service.. then what happens if you go with verizon and they cancell you or the service is not what you need or not in the locations you need it in.. then you will need an express card anyway.. Go with external cards so you can upgrade service or change service, you can always resell your external cards as well.. Dont lock in by building that kind of service into your laptop
