Has anyone ever received any sort of compensation because of delayed shipping? (I know plenty who've done it with Dell.)
If so please let us know how you managed it and what you received.
There are so many of us who are experiencing delays that have really set us back at school or at work...We have the right to demand for some sort of compensation.

Some more information on your situation would be nice. -
As much as the below article is specific to Dell, you may find that it holds value to this with any company...

At this point, Lenovo won't really offer compensation to you unless you've waited at least 30 days from your order date. If you just missed your '1-2 weeks' ESD, they may not be as open to offer compensation.
However alot of people missed their ESD by 1 - 2 months (like myself). And considering how severe your case is, you may be trasnferred to a Supervisor or Resolutions Officer, and they are empowered to offer you compensation.
If ultimately depends on how long you've waited and who you talk to. -
I just think people in the lenovo's forum aren't as crybabyish as they are as in the Dell forum. Jesus christ, their delivery date is 2 days past the estimated date and they want "compensation." I'm tired of seeing that word.

And how much did you pay for your...T61...even with the $39 ram.
Jump in to try and help and always a sphinkter muscle waiting to shoot away. Put your hand back where it has been for the past few hours the Johnny -
my order date was 8/12, ESD was 8/30.
8/30 came by, and i got a delay notice, my new ESD was 9/17.
i also had $40 cheaper quote, so i was going to get it price matched.
i called, and got a nice rep, he was actually helpful and apologetic, so i got my order price matched, and decided to be merciful and not bring up the order delay.
i had to cancel my first order, and re-order in order to get the new price. my new ESD is 9/24, but i was told there was a note on my order and it was sent to the warehouse directly, and i got free expedited shipping (or w/e the faster one is called). if my order gets delayed THIS time,.... no mercy. -
I'd have to agree with those sentiments. It's a product you're going to use for years. I don't see a few weeks one way or the other mattering all that much. -
I especially have no sympathy for them considering I ordered on 5/22 and didn't get a machine until 8/15.
-
No offense, but I have no sympathy for you if you did not seek any compensation.
Without knowing your ESD, it's obvious that at the least you experienced a 2 month delay. So you just sat on your couch and waited just because you were getting a top notch product? You are paying for a good/service and they are obligated to respect you and treat you as such. And that includes being prompt or else compensating the customer for not fulfilling an order on time in an efficient and organized manner. Which is to be expected from a company who is supposedly top-notch.
A few weeks to some may actually be important. And they have every right to complain. If there weren't people out there fighting for their rights and complaining then the global market today would be much worse off. If I were you I'd be thankful that there are people who actually make an effort to demand that corporations respect the customer. -
-
Exactly, they understand money.
So here goes...An active customer will complain, ask for compensation and if he gets none then will move on to a competitor. And so the first company just lost money. This process therefore forces corporations to be responsive to the customer.
Passive customers do not help maintain the right balance of healthy competition. -
there was a thread a while back about people getting free docking stations or ultrabay batteries as compensation...it was around 2-3 weeks ago...search it and there was also a contact number and a person to speak with regarding these issues
