Hello, I have an old x200 tablet and the wifi is acting up. It currently has the "thinkpad" wifi card and I would like to upgrade it to an intel wifi card.
I was about to order this from amazon:
Amazon.com: 6230 IEEE 802.11n (draft) Bluetooth 3.0 - Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Combo Adapter (Bulk): MP3 Players & Accessories
when I read that the thinkpad BIOS has some sort of whitelist on miniPCI slots.
Will the 6230 work or do I need to hunt down an intel 5100?

I believe you may need to hunt for a Lenovo spec Intel 5xxx cards if you're using the standard Lenovo BIOS, however you can use a modified BIOS that has the Whitelist removed that enables you to upgrade to any Wi-Fi card. You can try requesting for such BIOS at sites such as the ThinkPads Forums or at the MyDigitalLife Whitelist Removal Section.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I think either 5100 or 5300. My X200 Tablet has Intel 5100.

So would any old 5100 work:
New! Intel Wifi Link 5100 mini PCIe P/N: 512AN_MMW | eBay
or do you think I should go with the safe bet:
Lenovo Thinkpad X200 X301 Intel 5100 Wireless N Card | eBay
The price difference is substantial. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
You have to get the Lenovo card unless your 200t has a modded BIOS, etc.

I'll do that then, thanks for all the help!
