    A quick comparison between my T61 and T400

    Still like the form factor of the T61 with its 6 cell battery not protruding like the one on the T400;

    Screen is much better on the T400, brighter and WXGA is nicer to look at. The T61 really looks dim now; however the colours are a bit deeper on the T61.

    Tested the speakers on both, again the T400 has clearer sound, volume on the T400 is a bit louder as well. The T61 sounds a bit muffled now.

    Keyboards: to be honest cannot tell difference, maybe the T400 a tad louder when typing.

    Performance: Faster CPU in the T400 but the T61 may still have the edge in opening programs faster. Windows 7 not that fast on the T400.

    Battery: Did not test.

    Just for those few folks who may want to upgrade to T400. Still think it is too heavy so I am looking at the T400s series ... worth it ? Also if I get a T400 with a 7200 HDD would it be much zippier?

    T61 with the 14.1 inch widescreen is exactly the same as the T400 laptop (most of the parts are interchangeable). You are comparing the T61 15.4 inch or the 14.1 inch standard screen with the T400 laptop?

    standard... just my thoughts since I have both ... LED screen though, Quite a bit brighter
